Chess Playing Notes

Chess board should be placed in such a way that Light colored Square on bottom Right Hand Side.

Everytime you move look for pieces that attack the square you move into.

Everytime a Opponent Moves, You need to think why he moved that piece? what is idea behind it ? What is strategy behind it ?

Do Castling as soon as Possible. Make sure to use Pawns before King when its absolutely necessary,as they are there to guard the King.

Never move a piece twice in the opening and never make a move thinking you don’t know what to do.

Well Begun is Half Done.Good Opening is very Important.

Opening: Move out pieces and set them in attacking position. Bring out all pieces into Play before making any attack and don’t allow your opponent to do the same.Opening is generally completed when both of your rooks connect to each other.

Principles for Opening Strategy.

  1. Develop your Pieces. Start with smaller pieces first.Pawns,Bishops,Knights,Rooks,Queen. In such a wy that they control most of the open space.
  2. Occupy the Center. Piece in Center can control more squares then in corner. So opening will always be going to be fight for center.
  3. Exert Pressure on Center.
  4. Don’t Move a Piece Twice. As it will consume your time.
  5. Don’t Bring out your Queen too early. A Good Player will move about your Queen by Developing his Pieces.
  6. Castle ASAP. King is vulnerable from 3 sides at centre and Rook also need open File. Also Once King or Rook Move you can’t Castle.

En Passant is Special Move.
